Here we go again!

(originally posted on JeanC’s Cat House and Shooting Society on 08/30/25)

A vibrant sunflower stands tall, its yellow petals highlighted by a muted cloudy sky. Surrounding sunflowers and a distant American flag add depth to the scene, evoking a sense of natural beauty and patriotism. The overall composition captures a moment of tranquility in nature.

I am bound and determined to get this blog back up and running. It’s not like I don’t have time to work on it; it’s just that I can’t seem to get around to it. I really do need to work on getting all my writing going again. I do need to start earning my few pennies again. With the way things are going, I need all the pennies I can get.

To that end, I am working on developing as many passive sources of income as I can. I have set up on Benable, where I’ve already earned $22. Unfortunately, I have to hit $80 before I can get paid. I’ve also set up a store on my Linktree. On both, I earn a commission when people click through on a link a buy something.

If you are interested in joining Benable, please use this link. We both get a bonus when you set up your first referral. If you think you might like to use Linktree for yourself,  click through on the above link, and you can click the button to join me and sign up.

I am working on a new shop. I have been increasingly unhappy with Etsy; their allowing Alligator Alcatraz merch on their platform was the last straw. My new shop is on Drifa’s Leap. I don’t have much listed at the moment. I need to redo photos for all my stuff before I can finish transferring from Etsy to there.

I still have my shop on Pixels/FAA, since my new knees are letting me get out and about more, I am working on getting more pictures taken to post for sale. So far, I am just out in my garden, but once the last of the heat and smoke go away, I have plans for getting further afield.

Where else can I set up an income source? Oh yes, I still have my Zazzle store, where I’ve discovered they are now selling things like area rugs:

I think I am going to be doing a lot of designing of home decor in the foreseeable future.

I am also working on setting up a Printful shop on my website, though I am still having a challenge trying to wrap my brain around the concept of drop shipping. I think I need to make sure I have money built up in my business account so I can pull it off.

I also have a Ko-fi account where people can buy me a coffee if they so wish. I am working on trying to be more active there and set up a shop for downloadable wallpapers.

I think that is pretty much it for various income sources for me, both passive and active. I am trying to get as many of my social media posts for them all as automated as possible, which is a challenge since I am using the free versions of Fedica and Buffer.

Oh, I forgot, I am still writing on Medium and working on writing more consistently there also.

Sorry, it’s been a while since I last posted.

It’s been somewhat of a down winter. I was turned down for knee replacement surgery, so I have been rather pissed with life. I have been working on my art and writing on Medium though.

At least spring has sprung and I can get back out into my garden, even if I have to weed the flower beds while lying down since my knees aren’t up to it. I will be making a better effort to post here.

I am looking into adding a shop linked with Printful, but so far I am not having much luck getting things figured out. But I still have my other shops you can access here.

What I have been up to lately

I do need to get back into blogging regularly. I have been writing on Medium and do need to share my articles here also.

I have also been working on painting using a program from Escape Motions called Rebelle 5 Pro. They have since upgraded it to version 6, but I have yet to be able to afford the upgrade. I am seriously enjoying it. I picked it up last fall on a special they had for $10 a program.

Digital impressionist oil painting of a fiery sunset over the Palouse with the sun setting on the horizon with the sky in oranges, reds and pink and the fields and hills in the forefront in deep browns.

I picked up two other programs, both particle systems that create some very nice art. One is called Flame Painter and the other is Amberlight.

Abstract design in golds, yellows, browns and white

Shards (created with Flame Painter)

Abstract light painting using particles to create a galaxy effect in purples and pinks against a black background.,

Gardening has started I have a number of seedlings out in the greenhouse. Most are coming along nicely. I will have to restart a couple using a force method that uses a damp paper towel and a plastic bag. I have limited myself in how many varieties of tomatoes I have started. I have been overly ambitious for the last couple of years. Too many plants, not enough places for them. Once I get more raised beds in I can increase what I grow.

Eleven seed starter pots with seedlings and popsicle sticks on a workbench in a greenhouse.

That’s it for now. I am going to try and blog at least twice a week and with luck more once I get back into things.

Back to being active again

Because of a car accident way back in March of this year, I’ve not been doing much at all in regards to many of my shops. Recuperating has taken pretty much all of my time. But I am back and have even gotten out and about to take photos. Stopped at a local harvest fest on Saturday and took quite a few nice photos. Here is one I really like:

I love finding things like this to photograph. Hopefully the weather will hold long enough this fall so I can get out and about and get more.

Will also be adding more recycled computer art and jewelry to my Etsy and Amazon shops over the next few weeks to get ahead of the holiday gift season.

More updates as they come along.
